Consultant and researcher in Gastroenterology and Nutrition

Biography

I am a consultant gastroenterologist at Oxford University Hospitals and a researcher at the University of Oxford. My research interests include gut immunology and disease, with a particular focus in T cell biology, coeliac disease, and intestinal transplantation. I am overtly fond of the rebellious T cells that break the 'rules' of adaptive immunology: MAIT cells, γδ T cells & tissue resident populations.

My clinical work focuses on luminal gastroenterology, complex nutrition and coeliac disease. I have wider interests in medical education, healthcare policy, and inequalities in health.

I am the co-host (with Tamsin Cargill) of a gastroenterology research podcast, Gut Instinct: GI Research Update
